DR ISMAIL DINDAR

OPTHALMOLOGIST
Dr Ismail Dindar is a compassionate ophthalmologist who believes clear vision is the heartbeat of a life well-lived. Raised in Mpumalanga, he saw early on how sight restores independence and confidence. Today, he combines expert skill in cataract and retinal surgery with a gentle, patient-centered approach.

Whether he is completing his fellowship at the University of Toronto or volunteering for international outreach missions, Dr Dindar’s mission is simple: providing the "gift of light" to everyone, ensuring no one is left in the dark.

Dr Asvat

OPTHALMOLOGIST
Dr Akiel Asvat is a warm and dedicated ophthalmic surgeon who believes that clear vision is the foundation of a confident life. After training at the University of the Witwatersrand and learning the skills of Oculoplastic Surgery internationally, he has spent over a decade restoring sight in both public and private care.

Whether performing delicate cataract surgery or managing complex glaucoma, Dr Asvat treats every patient like family. He is passionate about education, ensuring you feel empowered and truly heard throughout your journey to better health.

Dr Goberdhan

OPTHALMOLOGIST
Born in Durban and a Nelson Mandela School of Medicine scholar, Dr Goberdhan is a compassionate ophthalmologist who places her patients' well-being at the heart of her practice. With a Master’s degree and specialized experience from St John’s Eye Hospital, she offers expert care in medical retina, glaucoma, and inflammatory eye conditions.

Now a consultant at Steve Biko Academic Hospital, she balances teaching future surgeons with volunteering for community outreach. Her kind, comprehensive approach ensures every patient feels truly heard and supported on their journey to better sight.

PRACTICE MANAGER
Kaysi is an experienced ophthalmic assistant whose high
energy and calming presence help patients feel
comfortable and welcomed at every visit. Originally from
Port Elizabeth, she embodies the spirit of the “Friendly
City” through her warm, professional, and hospitable
nature. Kaysi plays a key role in ensuring the practice
runs smoothly while providing supportive and attentive
care to patients.

Saarah Qiu

Ophthalmic assistant
Saarah is the friendly face at reception. Saarah is our
practice’s right hand , taking care of all your needs.
Saarah not only loves helping humans on their eye care
needs but also has a keen interest in furry friends too.
